I see the blue birds fly
and the rain that falls from the sky.
The green grass towering over my head.
A tree that was once dead.
I see this an nothing else, for
my life is simple.
I sleep all day, nibble here an

Pounce in my owners arms, an
sleep till night comes when
all is silenced, darken.
Purring loudly to show I love
the touch of someone, knowing
there always there. Gives me need to protect
what is mine an what should be cherished.
Cherished beyond politics, an
cherished beyond war, death, an greed.
Cherished beyond my own life.
One night though, what is this!
I have failed to protect my love
form the one thing most feared.
Mankind; has torn away her heart again
an again she cries.
My purrs can't subdue the pain this time.
The rubs of my cold nose don't reach her.
She pushes me away.

Torn apart, she can't hold on, for the last
time this will happen.
When in the morning light comes her
swinging feet, hovering three feet from the floor
will be the last I see of my owner, my love.
